Introduction
As a Utah-based videographer, I've had the privilege of shooting at various wedding and reception venues–all over Utah, and even across the U.S. From Mexican restaurants, to luxury resorts, IPennsylvania, Texas, nearly every one of them impressed above expectation. Branda & Jamey's wedding was very well planned, and flowed effortlessly from one part to the next. So completely accommodating and fun to work with, they lit up the screen. I was contracted by Joy Photo & Video to shoot this wedding, but it was extra interesting because I personally knew Branda from over a decade ago!
Location
Spanish Fork appears to have been experiencing an incredible rate of growth over the past few years. More and more restaurants, an exploding population, and what was once considered a small farm town are now becoming a booming economic center. River Bridge Event Center is on the Southern outskirt of the city, away from the bustle. The perfect venue for a couple who loves the small-town feel, but still want it close to amenities.
Getting ready
River Bridge features a unique setup, with an upstairs loft housing separate bridal and groom suites, and a family/communal room located in between. Quite a clever and workable setup, really. It was super easy bouncing back and forth, capturing key moments such as the bridal toast and the groom's cufflink moment with mom. Branda, being a social media influencer and owner of a local gym, had to create her own content, jumping on the trendy cell-phone quick wardrobe change trend.
The Ceremony
Quick and easy, the ceremony snuck up and started faster than I expected. It went extremely smoothly, and the photographer and I worked efficiently around each other. The vows were absolutely beautiful, and before we knew it, they were pronounced man & wife.
Reception
Part of the reception included a dinner, during which a few toasts were given in their honor. It was really cool hearing all of the fun stories about the couple. Following the dinner, they all danced the night away. Branda and her girlfriends performed a simple, choreographed dance, and of course Branda & Jamey shared a fun & cute dance as well.
The couple and their blended family drove off in a stretch SUV fairly early in the evening, after a sparkler send-off!
